Dr. Simon Andrew Whitton attained his Ph.D. in Integrative Neuroscience from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). He applies an integrative approach encompassing behavioral, experimental, and neuroimaging methods to optimize client assessment and treatment outcomes within the Nevada wellness industry. Additionally, he holds an MSc in Music, Mind, and Brain from the University of London, Goldsmiths (2018), where his research employed Electroencephalography (EEG) to unveil the neural mechanisms influencing visual brightness judgments under the influence of musical emotions. Throughout his Ph.D., Simon contributed significantly to advancing our understanding of neural plasticity, exploring the functional adaptability of the human brain with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and EEG. Currently affiliated with the Plasticity lab at UNR, his work underscores the synergy between neuroscience and psychotherapy, providing clients and clinicians with theory-driven insights for informed interventions. Simon emphasizes the crucial role of cognitive function and flexibility as indispensable tools for recovery, with a dedicated focus on fostering growth and facilitating positive change.
