More About Denise

Denise began her career in behavioral health in 1989 at the Northern Area Substance Abuse Council (NASAC) in Reno, Nevada. Since then she has worked at, and been the executive director of, a variety of co-occurring treatment centers in the area, instructed at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) and Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), and provided several presentations, trainings and workshops on mental health and substance use disorder issues statewide. She has a master’s degree in counseling and educational psychology and is a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor and a retired marriage and family therapist. Denise has held positions on a wide array of State and local boards and commissions and currently sits on the Nevada Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors.
