From a young age, Vanessa has had a passion for helping people. This desire led Vanessa to obtain a master’s degree in SW at UNR in order to empower and equip others to reach their full potential and live meaningful lives. Vanessa is a licensed social worker and a certified alcohol and drug counselor intern. Vanessa brings her genuine care and empathetic lens into therapy to facilitate strong therapeutic relationships. She utilizes a nonjudgemental and client-centered approach to provide space for personal growth, healing and empowerment. Vanessa recognizes the autonomic nervous system’s role in maladaptive coping behaviors and substance use. Thus, she believes it is critical to address change on a physiological level. Mindfulness techniques and Polyvagal Theory play a consistent role in her practice to facilitate lasting change.
